Phoebe's Piggies, a new do, and toddler tales
At 17 months I was finally able to put Phoebe in her first pigtails! Not an easy feat, she has fine curly hair that has way too many cowlicks and it was impossible to part and hard to stay straight unless I pulled her hair WAY too tight. So here are her modelling pictures:) I don't think that will be a common do for awhile, even though her hair when wet is down past her shoulders, it sure is above them when dry. Also, those lovely curls love to get matted from her sleeping ways! She wimpers when I detangle them... I love her hair by the way:)
Then, Michael finally got his 4th haircut since we got him home. He DOES NOT keep still these days so we ventured to Kidscut who apparently see much worse. I thought he was just horrible and it would have been impossible for me to do anything with him, but they said they see much worse. So, it cost me 20 bucks to have them do it with tip...we celebrated at Famous Dave's bque after that and he thought it was a yummy treat, especially corn on the cob.
I am only able to blog tonight because my kids went to sleep early, which is 8:30 for them. They have been night owls lately...if I try to blog while they are awake this is what tends to happen.
1) Phoebe makes her way to her favorite snack of dog food.
2) Michael can now reach our counters with ease and conveniently clears all the clutter away onto the floor.
3) Michael takes the dog's water and tries to mop the floor for me, resulting in slick surfaces on our hard wood, but definitely fun for him.
4) Michael has discovered how to open the drawer locks and conveniently heads for the knives.
5) Phoebe takes every toy and book in the house and throws it on the floor.
6) Michael climbs up our counter stools and does a balancing act.
7) Phoebe pulls out all the baby wipes out of the container.
8) Michael gets tangled up in my knitting yarn after stringing it through all the furniture just like toiletpapering a yard.
9) Michael finds the toothpaste and helps himself to a treat.
10) Michael conveniently turns on all the faucets he can reach as he can now open doors.
11) They both scream at the top of their lungs just because...
12) They both can go up and down stairs and have figured out a way to just push throught the babygates. Since we have 3 floors to our house I can't contain them anymore.
13) Phoebe finds all the loose coins in the house and brings them to me...
The list is endless, so I'll stop there, there are many things I'm thankful they manage not to do since they are healthy developing toddlers, and I am desperate for warm weather so we can go outside, but needless to say, my blogging time is few and far between. Now to post adoption report photos...

Your list sounds soooo familiar! Nicholas and Jacob move the kitchen chairs to whatever high spot they want to reach, if a drawer is not locked they get into it. I have been lucky so far they have not figured out the door locks or the babygates so they can stay somewhat contained. We are waiting for warm weather in NY also, today we have snow(yuck)! We get some warm days then it turns cold again. I can't wait until warm sunny weather is here for awhile so we can get outside to run!
I love the pigtails on Phoebe, she is just sooo adorable! My husband and I are thinking of starting our next adoption soon and I have said I don't care if we get a boy or a girl but seeing your Phoebe and all my other bloggermommy's little girls, we might just have to bring a little girl home this time, we shall see.
Love the piggies- the hairbows really set them off. And the haircut is great. As for your list...I hear you on 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, and 11 especially!
That is too funny to see the pigtails on P. I just took a bunch of pics of Noli a few days ago showing off her piggies.
I'm exhausted reading your list. Oh, how I can relate!! Our babies are growing up and seem to be busy busy busy keeping us on our toes, aren't they?
Gotta love those toddlers! Oh to have their energy.
Hang in there. Glad to see you are all doing well in spite of chaos.
Hugs

Gen, you are so funny. I pictured everything on your list as I was reading! I love the new pictures of Phoebe and Michael. They are darling! Just so you know, Kaleb does all those crazy things, too. But, you have your hands full with two kiddos! Hang in there girl...God will give you strength. Kaleb insists on giving Hudson his dog food in the dining room and then lays on the floor trying to mimic him. Sometimes he gets a few bites in without me noticing. Yuck! He also runs and tries to take drinks out of the water bowl. I'll catch him and give him a glass to fill with water from our water cooler. Then he takes the cup and runs back to the water bowl and tries to scoop it out with his cup. Ugh! Too funny. Some day we will look back at all of this and wish we had these days again...pure joy! Love ya!
Hey Gen,
I get the house chaos. Dylan is 18 months after all and all about pulling stuff down, climbing, stomping, throwing, etc etc etc.
I have missed posts so thanks for these lovely photos of your cuties.

You made me laugh so hard! And I love the pigtails! There is nothing cuter than little piggy-tails on sweet little girls! I know about the fine, curly hair, though--that's my hair. And I hated getting pig-tails because they hurt! My poor mom! I screamed like she was torturing me! At least you have a couple of cute pictures!
Good job about the post adoption reports! :)
Your kiddos are getting so big!!! They are so, so beautiful! Yes, we definitely NEED to get together soon.
Talk to you soon, Gen!
I can so relate! This is why we started the sports with the kids--cheaper then drugs for me. Still wishing for a housekeeper--but oh well, it's creative decorating! Those pigtails are adorable!
Where did you go Gen? I love to see the pics. of your kiddos! I bet they are keeping you very very busy! I know that my 2 boys keep me hopping all the time and your 2 kids are closer in age than mine! Hope to see some new pics. soon.
